Meet Jessica
Jessica Brazeal is a dedicated therapist and advocate with over 15 years of experience supporting survivors of trauma, abuse, and exploitation. Known for her compassionate approach and clinical expertise, Jessica specializes in working with individuals impacted by single-incident or complex trauma, as well as women navigating intimate partner abuse and coercive control. Her mission is to empower clients to rediscover their strength, reclaim their stories, and move toward healing with confidence and self-possession.
Jessica began her clinical journey at Genesis Women’s Shelter & Support, where she ultimately served as Director of Clinical & Professional Services. Over eight years, she worked directly with survivors of domestic violence and led a team of 20 therapists providing thousands of therapy hours to women and children in Dallas. Jessica also launched and coordinated Clinical Services at Highland Park United Methodist Church, a ministry designed to support survivors of domestic violence within the faith community.
Most recently, Jessica spent 6.5 years at New Friends New Life as Chief Programs Officer, where she led a team of 15 providing comprehensive services to adult and teen survivors of sex trafficking and sexual exploitation.
Jessica is EMDR Certified, an Approved Consultant, and Trainer, and has additional training in multiple trauma-informed modalities including:
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT) by Dr. Bruce Perry
Motivational Interviewing (MI)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
She holds a Bachelor’s in Journalism from Texas A&M University and a Master’s in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary.
Jessica lives in East Dallas with her wife, their children, and a lively collection of animals. She is a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community and co-owner of The Haven Wellness Center, where she continues her work of guiding individuals toward wholeness and resilience.
Jessica is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor in Texas (#65811).
